Job Summary: Trimmer Operator
The Trimmer Operator is responsible for completing trimming functions before or after press in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards.
As the Trimmer Operator and a member of the Production Team, you are accountable for:
- Meeting department production and quality goals as well as providing value to our customers
- Playing a key role in meeting the company wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals
- Contributing to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
- Following systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals, procedures and work instructions
- Complying with all OSHA safety requirements Responsibilities and Duties: General and Administrative
Responsibilities and Duties for Trimmer Operator:
General and Administrative:
- Coordinate with Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates
- Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed
- Communicate effectively with the General Manager/Owner, the Production Manager, the sales team, and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales objectives and customer objectives are met.
Trimmer Operator Duries:
- Perform all trimming functions as noted on work order/job tickets.
- Process trimming jobs according to specifications
- Trim jobs, complete work orders, tickets, and delivery receipts as necessary and place in their assigned areas
- Regular and Predictable Attendance
Equipment and Supplies
- Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures and update maintenance logs
- Inform supervisor of equipment problems
Required Qualifications
: Legal ability to work in the United States
- High school diploma/GED with experience, vocational/technical certification or equivalent work experience/on the job training
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good mathematical skills
- Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to work station
Working Conditions:
- Standing for prolonged periods of time – up to 8 hours or more per day
- Frequent lifting of objects weighing 30 lbs. or more
- Periodic overtime
- Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud
- Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder
- Fast-paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
